CZIFFRA GYÖRGY [1921, Budapest – 1994, Párizs] világhírű magyar származású zongoraművész és zongoravirtuóz.

Cigányzenész családból származott, apja id. Cziffra György cimbalmos. Nyolcéves korától a Zeneakadémián tanult, ahol Dohnányi Ernő, Weiner Leo, Ferenczy György és Keéri-Szántó Imre voltak a tanárai. Az ifjú zongoraművész sikert sikerre halmozott.

1943-ban kikerült a frontra, 1950-ben börtönbe zárták disszidálási kísérlete miatt. 1956 után Párizsban telepedett le. A romantikus zongorairodalom (Schubert, Chopin, Liszt, Brahms, Rahmanyinov) mestere lett, és improvizációs képessége a legnagyobb zongoraművészek közé emelte.

Csodálatos és egyedülálló karrierje, tudása, egyénisége, fiatalokat felkaroló munkássága ma is példaértékű.

A MOM Kulturális Központban, Balázs János Liszt Ferenc-díjas zongoraművész vezetésével 2016-ban életre kel az I. CZF Fesztivál, amelynek legfőbb célja a zongoraművész munkásságának, művészi hagyatékának méltó ápolása és továbbadása.
